Doug Wright Powerboats Launching Poker Run Concierge Service

The owner of DWR/Doug Wright Powerboats, Justin Wagner is on record saying he has no interest in building more than 15 immaculate custom catamarans a year. He has zero desire to become anything beyond a low-volume, high-quality builder. Throughout the build and delivery of any given DWR creation, he is hands-on and always accessible to the company’s clients. His approach to customer service is decidedly high-touch.

But Wagner, who is headquartered at the Lake of the Ozarks in Central Missouri, doesn’t just stop caring about what becomes of boat and client once they are out of his hands. If anything, he worries. That’s why starting with the 2025 Florida Powerboat Club Key West Poker Run in early November he is launching an event concierge service for Doug Wright catamaran owners. His frequent collaborators Andrew Imof and Mitch Kramer of Maryland Offshore Performance Marine Center.

The goal of the program, Wagner explained, is to make participating in a poker run or fun easy and pleasant for his DWR family clients.

“Clients can fly in and everything from A to Z will be take care of for them,” he said. “The boat will ready, full of fuel and waiting for them wherever it needs to be. Everything they need or request will be on board. When they’re done, all they have to do is bring it back to the dock when the event is complete. The guys will be right there to take it off their hands so they don’t have to worry about it.

“Andrew and Mitch are poker-run animals,” he added, then laughed. “They will take the shirts off their back for their clients if they need them.”

Wagner said he’s currently working on creating an actual poker-run schedule for Doug Wright Powerboats concierge service in 2025. He’ll establish the curated event roster based on customer preferences combined with his team’s knowledge of go-fast powerboat happenings.

“Look, I’ve always said I don’t want to be the guy who makes your three dozen donuts,” he said, then chuckled again. “I want to be the guy creates your wedding cake. That’s how we run our business from the sale to the delivery, and that’s how I want to run our concierge service after the delivery.”
