Image Of The Week: A Sport-Cat Rocket On The Tampa Bay Launch Pad

What began as invitation to a new powerboat delivery morphed into a lunch run with old friends and a few new ones thanks to Ricardo Maldonado of Manatee Marine Unlimited. The younger brother Julian Maldonado, who co-owns the Palmetto, Fla.-based business, Ricardo asked me if I’d like to join him for the delivery of the first Valor 27 Widebody catamaran to is Northern California-based owner.

He didn’t have to ask twice.

The day turned into a triple-catamaran lunch-run—with a mix of old friends and a few new ones run—to the inner reaches of Tampa Bay. It was the kind of afternoon you try to freeze in memory because you know that—like all special times—it will end too soon.
