There’s no doubt the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout, and all of the festivities surrounding the weeklong event in Central Missouri, is always a big deal for the team at Marine Technology Inc. in Wentzville, Mo., but this year the MTI crew appears to have even more in store for its current and future customers.

Future FPC Participation with Emerald Coast Poker Run ‘In Limbo’

Last weekend’s Emerald Coast Poker Run in the Destin, Fla., area attracted almost 180 powerboats and raised significant funds—$125,000 to $150,000 was targeted but a final number has not been released—for the nonprofit Emerald Coast Foundation, which distributes those funds to various local charities for children. But complaints about everything from poor food quality to “jammed to the rafters” overcrowding at event parties among members of the Florida Powerboat Club, which has partnered with the event since 1999, were widespread according to FPC President Stu Jones, and have led Jones to consider terminating his organization’s relationship with the run.

Latest DCB, Outerlimits and Sunsation Offerings Equipped With Bluave Audio Gear

Two weeks ago, Justin Wagner of Wave and Wheels in Osage Beach, Mo., headed to DCB Performance Boats in El Cajon, Calif., to guide head rigger Deron Rettke and the rest of the DCB crew through the first installation and tuning of his custom marine interior and audio company’s Bluave coaxial speaker and subwoofer components—introduced earlier this year—in the first DCB M44 catamaran to hit the water. The DCB project followed on the heels of Bluave installations in a new Outerlimits SL 44 V-bottom and a new Sunsation 34 CCX performance center console.

Nor-Tech Roars Past Performance Center Console Delivery No. 300

During a recent trip to the Nor-Tech Hi Performance Boats facility in Fort Myers, Fla., Peter Roberts of Ontario, Canada-based Double-R Performance ordered three more Nor-Tech performance center consoles in addition to those he currently has slated for production. That led Roberts, who owns the full-service new and pre-owned powerboat dealership with his brother Raymond, to consider how many performance center consoles have actually been delivered since 2010, the year Nor-Tech introduced the 390 Sport.
