During its first official press conference last Thursday evening in Key West, Fla., the organizers of Race World Offshore announced their 2018 event schedule. The organization sent the schedule via email to speedonthewater.com in a press release today.

Here’s a quick at RWO slate of events next year.

• April 19-22—Riviera Beach Grand Prix, Riviera Beach, Fla.
• May 24-26—Rebuild The Keys Hurricane Relief Grand Prix, Key West, Fla.
• June 20-24—Rebuild Houston Hurricane Relief Grand Prix, Clear Lake, Texas
• July 19-22—Greater Cleveland Area, Ohio. (Location to be announced.)
• August—Great Lakes Region (Date and location to be announced.)
• Sept. 21-23—Lake of the Ozarks National Championship, Mo.

According to the release, RWO president Larry Bleil shared his vision for the new organization and its inaugural season that “will feature full weekends of activities with a variety of Saturday ancillary events to include, Champ Boat races, car shows and marine manufacturer displays” during the Thursday evening presentation.

“The race teams will enjoy many of the benefits offered in other professional motorsports organizations that will include pole qualifying, prize purses, show up money and racer contingency sponsorships,” the release stated.

Texas Outlaw Challenge organizer Paul Robinson, who will host the RWO Clear Lake race during his annual event, attended the Key West media happening. Robinson’s plans, according to the release, include providing one complimentary hotel room per team and race fuel at no charge for teams that participate.
