Larrick Duval Embracing The Spirit Of The 2025 Key West Worlds

Between now and the first full week of November, Larry Bleil and Rodrick Cox of Race World Offshore have countless details to address. Their workload escalates daily as the November 2-9 Key West World Championships approach. It doesn’t begin to let up until last trophy has been awarded after the final race of the week.

Larrick Duval Championship Bourbon—now that’s the spirt.

But they’ll have extra help this year, and not just from the usual army of volunteers who help make the event happen. Bleil and Cox will showcase their own small-batch whiskey brand, dubbed Larrick Duval Championship Bourbon, during the upcoming Key West event. The marketing push for their joint-venture into the spirit world—think hooch not haunts—began this summer with a bottle-signing ceremony for racers during inaugural Race World Offshore Chicago Grand Prix.

From that bottle-autographing session, Bleil and Cox created the four-bottle Champion Collection whisky series that can be purchased online and will be delivered during the 2025 Key West Worlds. The product also is available through brick-and-mortar distribution channels.

“We’re currently distributing in Key West, from the finest establishments to local bars and eateries,” Cox explained. “We are also distributing through liquor stores on the various islands in the Keys from Key West to Marathon Our goal is to put this in the hands of as many people as possible prior to the beginning of the Key West World Championships.

“We have created signature cocktails for all restaurants and bars in Key West that carry Larrick Duval Championship Bourbon,” he added.

As wild roosters roam the streets of Key West and shriek to greet the dawn each morning, Bleil and Cox chose a rooster as a mascot-logo for their small-batch bourbon brand.

“That’s where we got our brand tagline, Cox said, then laughed. “‘Don’t go off half-cocked.'”
