Hang out for a day with Jake Nossaman, the proud owner of a 38-foot Statement and a 48-foot MTI, and you’ll understand why both of his boats are named Wired Up. Photo courtesy/copyright Pete Boden/Shoot 2 Thrill Pix.
A couple of his former boats were definitely familiar to me, but my first encounter with Oklahoma performance boater Jake Nossaman was two years ago at the docks at Captain Ron’s in Sunrise Beach, Mo. Tony Chiaramonte of DCB Performance Boats introduced me to Nossaman and his son. They were in town for the 2014 Lake of the Ozarks Shootout to take delivery of the family’s new DCB M35 Widebody catamaran powered by twin Mercury Racing 1350 engines.
The boat—his sixth DCB—provided a remarkable ride for almost two years before Nossaman was ready for another one, well, actually make that two. Nossaman and his wife, Gina, had decided they were in the market for a performance center console. At the same time, they were interested in a larger catamaran they could take to The Bahamas and on other ocean adventures. They also wanted boats they could enjoy with their four kids, Ashlyn, Tyler, Madison and Caden.
