Miles Complete First GSX/Glasstream Paintjob

Stephen Miles has painted far bigger—and far bigger-dollar—go-fast center consoles than the 32-foot GSX Poweboats/Glasstream model he just finished for a client who likes to keep his name out of the media. But in no small way, the Owensboro, Ky.-based artist  is as pleased with the finished product as he would have been with a higher-end, splashier project.

Miles treated the 32-footer like the special project it was for him and his appreciative client.

Though Miles had designed paintwork for center consoles from the Dothan, Ala., builder, 32 GSX was the first—as previously reported—he executed himself.

“I’m very happy with it,” he explained. “Most clients aren’t willing to make sure a 32-foot center console has a first-class paintjob, so this was a very nice touch on the part of a customer who does things right.”

The boat is powered by a pair of Mercury Racing 400R outboard engines. “I delivered it personally two nights ago,” Miles said. “My client was supposed to me at his storage facility, but he couldn’t get away. So he just saw it yesterday and then sent me a text. he wrote, ‘Holy cow, it looks amazing. Great job. It’s a bad-ass.’

“Obviously, he’s really happen,” he added. “And that made me even more grateful for the opportunity to do this project.”
