Record-Setting Fleet And Longer Course On Tap For Sixth Annual PBC Outboard Fun Run

Heading into its sixth year at the Lake of the Ozarks, the July 24-25 Performance Boat Center Outboard Fun Run is on its way to a record-setting turnout with 66 boats signed up so far.

“That’s more than we’ve ever had,” said Brett Manire, the co-owner of the Osage Beach, Mo.- headquartered dealership, which has a second location in Fort Lauderdale. “Plus, there will be more sign-ups between now and Saturday plus ‘regular’ 20 or so participants who never register.”

Listening and responding to their frequent event attendees, Manire and company at the multi-brand, full service outfit have added more running distance to this year’s happening. After the fleet departs Performance Boat Center Saturday morning, it will head to the Coconuts At The Lake restaurant. From there the group will move to The Cave Bar and Grill.

Even at its own events, the Performance Boat Center crew manages to have a fine time.

“It’s around 18 miles from PBC to Coconuts,” Manire explained. “From coconuts to The Cave is around 35 miles.”

For outboard-powered catamaran and V-bottom owners who want more, Performance Boat Center is organizing a Saturday run to Big Dick’s Halfway Inn and The Boat House. The second Sunny Sunday of the summer is set for the following day, which means Sunsation Boats center consoles could have three days of organized Lake of the Ozarks outings this weekend.

The fun starts Thursday evening with a party and fireworks display at the High Tide entertainment venue on the Performance Boat Center property.

Thanks to Performance Boat Center, there are plenty of casually organized fun-run options at the Lake of the Ozarks this weekend.
