The Best Nine Key West Bash Auction Items Ever—A Complete List
No matter how many times you’ve done it, securing worthwhile items for the Speed On The Water Key West Bash charity auction is daunting. But thanks to a combination of longstanding relationships with speedonthewater.com supporters and the uncommon generosity of the go-fast boating community itself, it does get easier.

Collecting for this year’s affair set for Thursday, November 6, from 7 p.m. to 10 at the Pickle’s Pub Sandbar on Greene Street was particularly easy. And items that will be on the auctioned—the fun will start at approximately 8:30 p.m. are absolutely, positively over the top

But as killer as each of these nine items is, they are not the only expressions of generosity that are going into this event. Insurance and finance man Devin Wozencraft is once again funding the free buffet inside the Pickle’s Pub venue. Simon Williams sprang for the sound system that volunteer auctioneer Michael Hall of Performance Boat Center will use to “open hearts, minds and wallets,” in his own words.
A new event beneficiary this year, AHEC Health Centers Keys picked up the cost of the auction stage. South Florida real agent Greg Harris—a Speed On The Water Key Bash organizer for the past nine years—has worked closely with fine folks at the Sandbar to make sure it all happens smoothly.

Bid high and you, your significant other and one more couple can watch Sunday’s Key West races from Rob and Christine Lockyer’s fully catered 103-foot yacht.
A longtime Key West Bash beneficiary, Samuel’s House will sell event T-shirts outside the Pickle’s Pub Sandbar to raise money to support the local shelter it provides for women in children. Mystic Powerboats founder John Cosker, who won’t even be in Key West this year but a giant heart, stepped up to sponsor those shirts so the charity can receive all of the proceeds from their sale.
Tim and Cyndee Hill of Fort Myers Offshore powerboat club fame are taking charge of 50/50 raffles—and keeping this reporter sane—throughout the evening. Photographers Pete Boden and Jeff Helmkamp will be everywhere at once to a capture the faces of fun.
And Race World Offshore head Larry Bleil? He appreciates the annual event so much that he had it built into his contract with the city.
Damn right it takes a village. Strike that. It takes a freaking army of good people.

Proceeds from the auction and all other fundraising efforts than evening will be split evenly between the Key West-based Samuel’s House and Keys AHEC Health Centers, “which provides access to no cost medical and low cost dental care for the school age children of Monroe County (Fla.), no matter their financial circumstances.”
Both Samuel’s House and AHEC Health Centers are 501(c)(3) charities. Winning bidders will be required to pay immediately after the bidding on each auction item closes. No exceptions will be made.

Owned by Speed On The Water Key West Bash sponsor Simon Williams, the Cortez Cove/GoGPS Fountain Racing Super V raceboat also will be displayed on Greene Street during the Thursday night affair.
