Tonight’s The Night—Countdown To The 12th Annual Key West Bash And Charity Auction
Though Key West fills steadily through the Race World Offshore World Championships week each year, the influx peaks Thursday with the powerboat owners who head to the city that day for the Florida Powerboat Club’s annual. This year is no exception as the majority of pleasure boat fleet heading to Key West leaves this morning and will arrive in the late afternoon.

That’s why the Speed On The Water Key West Bash and Charity Auction, happening for the 12th time year in famed city at the end of the Florida road, has always been a Thursday evening affair. More than two thirds of the Florida Powerboat Club members signed up will arrive in Key West today.
The fun starts 7 p.m. and runs until 10 p.m. Wozencraft Insurance and Finance is once again sponsoring the buffet inside the host venue.
Based out of the Pickle’s Pub Sandbar on Greene Street, which is closed during the celebration benefitting the Samuel’s House shelter and AHEC Health Centers Keys, the celebration will boast the GoGPS/Good Boy and Cortez Cove Fountain Racing boats as decorations.
The live auction begins at 8:30 p.m. will be led by Michael Hall of Performance Boat Center.

AHEC Health Centers Keys sponsored the rental auction stage. GoGPS secured the accompanying audio system..There also will be two 50/50 raffles benefiting the charities during the evening.
The Super V-class Cortez Cover Fountain Racing V-bottom is one of two raceboats that will be displayed on Greene Street during the affair.
Proceeds from the auction and all other fundraising efforts than evening will be split evenly between the Key West-based Samuel’s House and Keys AHEC Health Centers, “which provides access to no cost medical and low cost dental care for the school age children of Monroe County (Fla.), no matter their financial circumstances.”
Both Samuel’s House and AHEC Health Centers are 501(c)(3) charities. Winning bidders will be required to pay immediately after the bidding on each auction item closes. No exceptions will be made.
