WPRA President Confirms XINSURANCE South As 2025 Pro Class 1 National Champion
In an email sent today, World Powerboat Racing Association president Jeff Harris confirmed that 2025 Pro Class 1 National Champion is the XINSURANCE South team. Thanks to a tie for points between the XINSURANCE South and Monster Energy/M CON teams, the matter has been hotly contested since the final race of the fledgling sanctioning body’s final race of the season in Clearwater, Fla.

“After review of the 2025 WPRA National Standings and application of the WPRA’s published tie-breaker criteria (most first-place finishes) to the points tie between XINSURANCE South and Monster Energy/M CON, this letter confirms that XINSURANCE South is the 2025 WPRA Pro Class 1 Nation Champion,” Harris wrote. “The standings reflect that XINSURANCE South and Monster Energy/M CON finished the 2025 season tied in championship points. Under the published rules, the tiebreaker awards the championship to the team with the greater number of first-place finishes. XINSURANCE South prevails on that basis and is therefore recognized by WPRA as the 2025 Pro Class 1 National Champion.
“WPRA will ensure that all official references to the 2025 Pro Class 1 national championship are updated to reflect this and will coordinate delivery of the championship trophy and related materials with the team,” Harris added.
